Hyperion DeFi Commits 500K HYPE Tokens to Support Hyperliquid HIP-3 Markets

Hyperion DeFi, a Nasdaq-listed company, has committed 500,000 HYPE tokens to support institutional perpetual futures markets on Hyperliquid through a new agreement with Skew Technologies. The deal gives Hyperion an equity stake in Skew and a share of listing-service revenue.

The commitment extends Hyperions role from a passive token holder to an active ecosystem participant on Hyperliquid. The company will deploy its HYPE treasury assets to support the HIP-3 market framework, which allows for the creation of custom perpetual futures markets on the Hyperliquid platform.

Hyperliquid has been expanding beyond cryptocurrency markets into traditional asset classes through its HIP-3 program, which enables builder-deployed markets for stocks, commodities, and indices. The venues HIP-3 markets for non-crypto assets first topped its native crypto volume on July 8 and have continued to gain traction.

The partnership with Skew Technologies, which builds institutional trading tools, is designed to attract more sophisticated participants to Hyperliqid ecosystem. Skew will receive HYPE tokens from Hyperion to develop and maintain market-making infrastructure that improves liquidity and reduces slippage for traders.

Hyperions move reflects a growing trend among publicly traded crypto companies to actively deploy their treasury assets rather than holding them passively. By committing tokens to support market development, Hyperion can potentially earn returns on its holdings while simultaneously increasing the utility and value of the Hyperliquid ecosystem.
