Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal is stepping down after six years leading the company’s legal, compliance, and government relations operations. He’ll stick around in an advisory role.
Grewal joined Coinbase in mid-2020 and has been the face of the company’s legal strategy through a period of intense regulatory battles. Under his watch, Coinbase fought the SEC in court, pushed for clearer crypto regulation, and navigated an increasingly complex enforcement environment.
No word yet on who’s taking over the top legal spot. Coinbase hasn’t announced a replacement.
