Dormant Bitcoin Wallet From 2011 Wakes Up With 719,353% Gain

A Bitcoin wallet sat untouched for 14 years and 9 months. Then it moved.

Galaxy Research spotted 30 BTC shifting in block 956627. The coins were first received on August 7, 2011. At current prices, that’s $1.88 million. The realized profit? $1.84 million — a 719,353% gain. The original buy price averaged $9 per coin.

The address is 1KV47ho8CG2vcTtBQwkfNCgzUVBuBeZkLG. Galaxy attributes the coins to “Noah Doe” — one of the anonymous plaintiffs in a New York lawsuit claiming ownership of 3.8 million long-dormant BTC across 39,069 addresses. That includes coins tied to Satoshi Nakamoto.

Galaxy’s head of research Alex Thorn noted the pace of Noah Doe coins moving on-chain has been accelerating month over month. A real defendant has surfaced in the lawsuit too — “John Doe 33” — who filed a motion to dismiss arguing the entire case is void.

Bitcoin trades at $62,719, down 50.29% from its October 2025 all-time high of $126,198. Even so, that 2011 wallet is doing just fine.
