Amazon has the Windows version of the Lenovo Legion Go S on sale for $549.99 for Prime Day, matching the lowest price we’ve seen for this handheld. It typically sells for around $700, so this is a solid $150 savings on capable gaming hardware.
The Legion Go S packs an 8-inch 120Hz display with variable refresh rate, a Ryzen Z2 Go chip, and Windows 11. It’s not going to win any benchmark battles against the pricier Z1 Extreme models, but it handles games like Cyberpunk 2077 well enough for on-the-go play. The ergonomic design and fast charging are genuine pluses.
When we reviewed it, the main complaint was the $730 launch price — the Z2 Go chip didn’t feel competitive at that level. But at $549, the calculus changes. Memory prices have been climbing across the board, so a sub-$550 handheld with a 120Hz panel is a reasonable deal in 2026.
Microsoft has also improved Windows on handhelds significantly since the original Legion Go launched. The OS is smoother and better optimized for controller input. And you don’t have to stick with Windows — as Sean Hollister noted in his handheld guide, putting Bazzite on it should give you a slight performance edge over the Steam Deck in turbo modes.
A few caveats. The tiny trackpad isn’t useful for anything serious. And don’t pay much more than $550 — at the original price, there were better options. At this sale price, it’s a solid pick for a portable gaming machine.
