Anthropic’s Claude Cowork is finally breaking out of the desktop app. Starting Tuesday, it’s available on mobile and web for the first time.
Max subscribers get it first. Other plans follow “in the coming weeks.”
Cowork was previously locked to the macOS and Windows desktop apps. Now iOS and Android users can jump in. But Anthropic’s being honest: the “full experience” — including local file access — stays on desktop.
One big change: Cowork sessions now run in the cloud by default. That means you can start something on your laptop, pick it up on your phone, or let it keep running in the background even when your computer’s closed. There’s still a local processing option for the desktop app if you want it.
Scheduled tasks work even when none of your devices are online. Claude can also ping your phone when it needs a review or approval.
Anthropic’s doubling Cowork usage limits through August 5th to smooth the transition.
This matters. Claude Cowork is Anthropic’s bet on AI agents that do real work — not just chat. Making it cross-platform and cloud-native turns it from a power-user desktop tool into something you can actually rely on throughout your day. The question is whether the mobile experience holds up, because that’s where most people live.
