Mark your calendars: November 13th is when the California Science Center in Los Angeles reveals the space shuttle Endeavour in its new permanent home inside the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center.
The display is going to be something special. Endeavour will be positioned in a launch-pad-like configuration — the kind of setup that makes you feel the scale of the thing in a way photos never quite capture.
It’s been years in the making. The California Science Center has been planning and building this exhibit for a long time, and the shuttle has been waiting in storage while the facility came together.
If you’re anywhere near LA this fall, it’s worth the trip. Some things you just have to see in person.
