Galaxy Digital, the cryptocurrency financial services firm founded by Mike Novogratz, has secured the naming rights for Texas Tech University’s football stadium in a 15-year partnership. The deal, reportedly valued at more than $70 million, marks one of the largest corporate naming rights agreements in college sports.
The stadium will be renamed to include the Galaxy Digital brand, giving the crypto-focused firm prominent visibility in the world of collegiate athletics. The partnership reflects a broader trend of cryptocurrency companies expanding into mainstream sports sponsorships, following similar deals by Crypto.com, Coinbase, and others in recent years.
Texas Tech’s football program, which competes in the Big 12 Conference, has a dedicated fan base and a stadium that seats over 60,000 spectators. The naming rights agreement provides Galaxy Digital with year-round brand exposure through signage, digital assets, and event integrations.
For Galaxy Digital, the deal represents a significant marketing investment aimed at building brand recognition beyond the crypto community. The firm, which went public in 2020 through a reverse merger, has diversified its operations to include asset management, trading, and investment banking services for the digital asset sector.
The partnership also includes educational components, with Galaxy Digital committing to support blockchain and financial technology programs at the university. The deal comes as institutional adoption of digital assets continues to grow, with traditional financial institutions and corporations increasingly engaging with crypto firms.
