Google’s Nest Thermostat Drops to $79 — Best Price of the Year

If you’ve been thinking about a smart thermostat, now’s the time.

Google’s Nest Thermostat is down to $79 in white at Amazon — that’s $50 off and the lowest price it’s been all year.

It’s their entry-level model from 2020, but don’t let that fool you. It installs quickly and works with the Google Home app, so you can adjust the temp from bed, the couch, or halfway home. Voice control works with Google Assistant, Alexa, and other Matter-compatible assistants.

Once it’s running, it’ll automatically turn down the heat or AC when you leave. Google’s Savings Finder suggests more ways to cut energy costs over time. It also monitors your HVAC system and sends alerts if something seems off — before a small problem turns into an expensive repair.

If you’re eligible for Nest Renew, it can shift some heating and cooling to times when electricity is cleaner or cheaper. Nice bonus.

The catch? This isn’t the fancy Nest Learning Thermostat. It won’t learn your schedule automatically, and it doesn’t support Nest Temperature Sensors for room-by-room control. But if you just want remote control and lower energy bills without spending a fortune, $79 is hard to beat.
