Anthropic Tests Claude Cowork on Mobile Devices

Anthropic appears to be testing a mobile version of Claude Cowork, the company’s agentic mode for Claude that brings task-running abilities to everyday knowledge work.

Until now, Cowork has been tied to Claude Desktop on macOS and Windows. It can handle longer tasks, work with files, create documents, generate spreadsheets, and keep running in the background while you monitor progress. Unlike Claude Code, which is built for development, Cowork targets broader productivity work.

Screenshots posted on X suggest Anthropic is preparing a proper mobile experience. The key detail: you’ll be able to start and steer tasks directly from your phone, and work continues in the background even when you close the app.

Don’t expect your phone to become a full agentic platform though. From what we can see, the mobile version acts more like a remote control for Cowork running on your PC. The actual heavy lifting still happens on your computer, with your phone serving as a monitoring and control interface.

Anthropic hasn’t made a public announcement yet, but the signs are clear: mobile Cowork is coming.
