Apple TV has finally locked in a premiere date for the sixth season of Slow Horses, the gritty spy drama that’s become one of the platform’s most reliable hits. Season 6 kicks off September 16, with new episodes rolling out weekly until the finale on October 21.
For the uninitiated, the show follows Jackson Lamb — played by Gary Oldman in peak grumpy form — who runs a dumping ground division of MI5 where failed agents go to rot. Based on Mick Herron’s novels, it’s equal parts dark comedy and genuine espionage thriller. The first-look image shows Oldman back in character, looking exactly as disheveled and unbothered as you’d expect.
If you’ve been waiting to binge the whole thing at once, you’ll need some patience. The weekly drop format means the full season won’t be available until late October. But honestly, Slow Horses is the kind of show that benefits from a little breathing room between episodes.
