Solos just announced the AirGo A6. No cameras. Just 19 grams. That’s about half what last year’s model weighed.
The weight savings come from thinner temple arms that still house speakers, batteries, and electronics. For context, Meta’s new glasses announced last month clock in at 54 to 60 grams. The AirGo A6 is barely a third of that.
These aren’t meant to record your life. They’re voice-first. An AI assistant handles questions, real-time translations, and calendar reminders. Speakers sit behind your ears so you can listen to music or take calls while staying aware of your surroundings.
Pricing isn’t finalized yet. They’ll support full prescription lens compatibility and come in multiple styles including transparent options that show the electronics inside.
Solos also announced new privacy accessories for the AirGo V2 — $39 non-powered replacement temples, a $49 clip-on privacy shield with clip-on sunglasses, and a $79 bundle. The shield physically blocks the camera on the older model. If the A6’s no-camera approach catches on, that might be where the whole category is headed.
