Anthropic just signed a massive 20-year lease with TeraWulf. We’re talking $19 billion in projected revenue for the bitcoin-mining-turned-AI-infrastructure company.
The deal is for Anthropic to use TeraWulf’s “Justified Data” site in Hawesville, Kentucky. That facility will provide 401 MW of IT load — enough to power some serious AI training workloads.
For TeraWulf, this is a huge validation. The company’s been pivoting from crypto mining to AI data centers, and landing a tenant like Anthropic — one of the hottest AI labs on the planet — is about as good as it gets. A 20-year commitment at this scale tells you Anthropic is playing the long game on compute.
The $19 billion revenue figure over two decades works out to roughly $950 million a year. That’s the kind of recurring revenue that transforms a company’s outlook. For investors watching the crypto-to-AI pipeline, this is the playbook in action.
Kentucky’s getting a major piece of the AI infrastructure buildout too. Hawesville isn’t exactly Silicon Valley, but with 401 MW of compute capacity, it might as well be.
