Virus Bulletin announced that starting Q3, all VBSpam tests will run under the AMTSO framework. If you evaluate email security products, this matters.
AMTSO — the Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization — sets methodology standards for security product testing. Having VBSpam operate under that framework means the results follow a consistent, auditable methodology. No more guessing how tests were configured or what metrics were used.
For vendors, it means their products get evaluated against benchmarks they can trust. For buyers, it means the test results are actually comparable across products and across test cycles.
VBSpam has been running for years as one of the more respected email security tests. Moving to AMTSO formalizes what many already assumed was the standard. Now it’s locked in.
