The Trump Mobile T1 Phone is now available for anyone to buy — no $100 deposit, no waitlist. Just $499 and you’re in.
Android Authority spotted the update to the Trump Mobile website. Until now, you had to put down a $100 deposit to reserve one. Now you can pay the full $499 upfront. The catch? Nobody seems to know when you’ll actually get it.
The phone has only trickled out to a small number of preorder customers so far. The Verge, which paid for two handsets, is still waiting for either to ship. Evidence of actual deliveries to customers is thin. If you order today, you’re likely behind existing preorders — or maybe not. The company’s communication has been inconsistent.
In true Trump Mobile fashion, the website update is half-done. One page still says “join the waitlist.” The homepage still says “get in line now” and references the old $100 deposit. It’s a mess.
The $499 price is still listed as “promotional pricing.” Executives told The Verge back in February that the price would rise eventually, but there’s no sign of that yet. The final price is reportedly expected to be under $1,000. When it changes, and by how much, is anyone’s guess.
So if you want a gold-plated-looking Android phone with a flag on the back, the door is open. Whether that door leads to an actual phone arriving at your house anytime soon is a separate question.
