Tata Electronics, a major Indian technology manufacturer and Apple supplier, has confirmed it was hit by a cyberattack that affected parts of its IT infrastructure.
The company said its operations remained unaffected. “A few weeks ago, Tata Electronics identified a cybersecurity incident on some of our systems,” a spokesperson told BleepingComputer. “Our response protocols were deployed immediately, and the incident has had no impact on our operations across businesses, which remain unaffected.”
Tata Electronics is a division of the Tata Group focused on electronic components and semiconductor manufacturing. Since its founding in 2020, it has grown to become one of India’s largest tech manufacturing companies, producing and assembling Apple iPhones and components.
The statement came in response to claims by the World Leaks threat group, which leaked data allegedly stolen from Tata. Leaked materials include directories and documents containing manufacturing data for Apple products — internal component schematics, PCB designs, material specifications, and SDK files.
World Leaks is considered a rebrand of the Hunters International ransomware group, which shut down in July 2025. Unlike Hunters, World Leaks operates purely as a data extortion group, stealing files and threatening to leak them.
Other high-profile victims include Dell, which confirmed a breach in July 2025, and Nike, which investigated a claimed theft of 1.4 TB of files in January 2026.
BleepingComputer has contacted Apple for comment but has not yet received a response.
